'Unpredictable' is probably the best word to describe the planning process in the South East as present.
Unfortunately, this leads to droughts and floods in terms of securing planning permissions for most developers during the course of a year.
Having had no joy at local level with their applications to redevelop this redundant commercial site, South East Living were eventually granted permission for the construction of 12 flats at appeal.
As is now so often the case, permission was granted at a time when SE Living had no space in their development schedule to allow them to undertake construction of the site. Grangewalk Developments Ltd have acquired several consented sites via the Land & Strategic Property Division recently, and we were quickly able to structure an agreement between the two firms.
Contracts were exchanged inside two weeks and with the minimum of fuss. Completion is due as we go to print.
