Our family owned this property since 1986 so well over 30 years. We wanted to sell for a couple of years and understandably achieve the maximum price for our asset on an unconditional basis.

We advertised our asset ourselves and via other agents at a high price hoping that either someone would pay it or we would achieve a good offer. We did not manage to achieve a sale and experienced time wasters and a number of abortive transactions.

We finally instructed Acorn’s Commercial & Development department to market the property. Acorn advised us on a marketing strategy which included where to set the guide price. They carried out marketing and reported over 10 offers for our consideration, also advising us on the offers received. Contracts were exchanged with the chosen bidder shortly after on an unconditional basis with a 28 day completion.
