The Board of Crystal Palace Indoor Bowling Club Ltd has been trying to sell its site in Anerley for around 15 years. During that time there have been negotiations with many residential property developers. We first met with Acorn’s Jeff East and Jamie Stevenson back in January 2020 and were very impressed by their analysis of our situation and their positive approach to the marketing of our site. In hindsight, it is with much regret that we did not engage Acorn at that time, preferring to give the existing agent one more chance. We contacted Jamie again in October 2021. Once again, he gave us a detailed, and expert, appraisal of current market, the difficulties associated with the sale of our site and an estimate of its value. We engaged Acorn to sell our site and Jamie agreed terms and conditions which were reasonable considering our situation. We had an input into the content of the marketing materials. The first round of marketing produced eight offers and Jamie’s experience was evident in the way that these were whittled down to three suitable bids. Not only were we kept fully informed, and involved, during the sale process but Jamie also went the extra distance for the Club in terms of the advice he provided and the time he gave to the sale. He was particularly supportive during the rather tense latter stages of what evolved into quite a complex agreement. In the end, we realised a price some way above our expectations. We would have no hesitation in unreservedly recommending Jamie, and Acorn, based on the work he did for our Club without which we would not now be in a position to try and keep indoor bowls available in the local area.
