Acorn Estate Management is a member of The Property Institute which originates from the merger of The Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA) and The Institute of Residential Property Management (IRPM).
Established in 1991, ARMA, the leading professional body for residential managing agents in England and Wales was created to bring together companies involved in private residential block management. IRPM, the professional body for residential property management specialists, set industry standards by providing accredited qualifications, career guidance, and resources to assist property managers in their roles, and was founded in 2002.
As a member of TPI, Acorn agrees to adopt and abide by their principal objectives and to undertake to comply with their codes of practice and that of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Acorn is audited regularly by our professional body to ensure we are complying with their code of conduct.
RICS
In 2004, The Acorn Group merged with MAP Chartered Surveyors, one of the leading independent surveying specialists in the South East. MAP are full members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the world’s leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property and construction.
Acorn Estate Management work within the regulatory framework of the RICS Residential Management Code which covers legislative requirements and best industry practice.
The Property Ombudsman
Acorn Estate Management is a member of The Property Ombudsman (TPO), which provides a free, fair and independent service for dealing with unresolved disputes. By appointing an agent who is a member of TPO, you can be confident about your agent’s approach in its dealings with residential property management in the UK.
Other Memberships
The Acorn Group is also a member of The Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA Propertymark), The Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) and is approved by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT). We fully comply with Data Protection requirements and are subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which includes compliance with a number of enhanced data protection principles. The Acorn Group are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
