Following the successful sale of a prime 2 acre site in South Croydon for Barnardo's earlier in the year; we have recently concluded the sale of another former Barnardo's children's home in Norwood.

Barnardo's had procured consent for the construction of a new block comprising 30 one and two bedroom flats, and were in the process of considering a joint venture proposal for the construction of the site.

As a result of their partnership agreement with Moat Housing Group, clients Greenacre Homes were aware of a shortage in the number of small affordable housing units available in Croydon and tabled a proposal for the acquisition of the site that was simply too good for the vendors to refuse.

The scheme will see Moat provide 30 much needed homes for local people, and maintains Barnardo's ongoing social commitment to the community.
