The stamp duty holiday has been extended!
The UK Government has today announced the extension of the stamp duty holiday until the end September.
This applies to the first £500k of all home purchases until the end of June, then reducing to the first £250k until the end of September. From 1st October, SDLT will return to normal, so if you are considering a move in the near future, now is the time!
As before, this only applies to main residence purchases and not second homes. However, if you are a second-home buyer or landlord, you will benefit from a reduced stamp duty rate of just 3% on the first £500,000 of your next purchase.
