This former printworks got a little air time for a while following the high profile collapse of Kids Company. Whilst the property has been put to a variety of light industrial uses over the years, it most recently served as offices for Kids Company. The sudden loss of their tenant encouraged our clients to consider disposing of the freehold, and we were appointed as sole agents. It was clear to us that potential existed both for the continued use of the existing buildings, and the possible redevelopment of the wider site. Rather than try and predict the likely outcome, we tailored a marketing strategy that would ensure all manner of potential purchasers were made aware of the property. Offers were indeed received from a variety of buyers including investors, developers and numerous commercial owner-occupiers. The strongest interest, however, came from a local veterinary practice, subject to a change of use to D1. Confident that the alternative use would prove viable in planning terms we advised our clients to accept the offer, and conditional contracts were promptly exchanged. Planning permission was quickly forthcoming, and the sale completed within 5 months of exchange. We're not the kind of agent that always looks to make a quick buck. If a conditional sale suits a client's requirements we'll happily play the long game!
