Sevenoaks, Kent

Sevenoaks town is a civil parish located amongst greenbelt land and many areas of outstanding natural beauty. It can be found south-east of London in western Kent. It is served by a commuter main line railway and is 21 miles (34 km) from London Charing Cross making it popular amongst commuters.

Sevenoaks is an area incredibly popular amongst families with a host of independent, grammar and state schools.

 

Did you know?
  • The name Sevenoaks derives from seven large oak trees, six of which blew down in the great storm in 1987.
  • The construction of Knole House within the grounds of Knole Park in the 15th century helped to develop Sevenoaks Village which has grown to the town it is today.

Knole Park - A 947-acre park which is much loved by the local community, Knole Park provides great open spaces, free roaming deer, and a play area for families to meet and relax.

Sevenoaks Market - A general Wednesday market takes place in Buckhurst car park next to Sevenoaks bus station. A wide range of goods are on offer from fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, plants and flowers, homewares, pet accessories and wild animal foods. There is also a Saturday market in the High Street.

Sevenoaks Leisure Centre – With it’s 25 metre swimming pool, gym facilities and a range of exercise classes for adults and children.

The Stag Theatre - Community arts centre with a cinema and stage hosting large scale touring and musical productions.
